Hi all,

After spending four years in Silicon Valley, I moved to Munich in December
2004. I'm now working for Rohde & Schwarz doing high-frequency mixed-signal
IC Design for high-end instrumentation applications.

We are looking for more people with experience in RF and/or mixed-signal IC
design and have a hard time finding them locally, so I'm playing
headhunters today and spread the word among Swiss expatriates in USA.

If you have experience in analog or mixed-signal IC design and consider
moving (back?) to Europe, I suggest you take a look at job opening A/106 in
the "Careers" section of www.rohde-schwarz.com. At this time, you have to
select German as a language to find the ad, but I was told that the same
job description would be soon available in english as well. You can also
write to me (Oliver.Landolt_at_RSD.Rohde-Schwarz.com) if you want more
information.

I can say that the team I work for is great. The field of mixed-signal IC
design is still relatively new to the company, therefore people joining now
can soon play an important role and have a big impact. Let me also remind
you that in Germany, you get six weeks of paid vacation annually. Work
hours vary between 35 and 40 per week. Saturday work is rare and Sunday
rest is sacred. Sounds good, no?

Cheers,

Oliver Landolt
R&D Engineer Mixed-Signal IC
Rohde & Schwarz
