Welcome to the Swiss-List mailing list!
- Q:
- Why a Swiss-List ?
- A:
- The creation of the Swiss-List was initially a consequence of the increasing amount of Swiss scientist at Stanford University and replaced the informal exchange
between some of us in early 1997. Its goal is to address issues relevant to the swiss scientific community active in the US. Even the Swiss Consulate in San Francisco moni
tors the list and posts interesting info.
- Q:
- What are the topics covered by the Swiss-List ?
- A:
- There are no predefined themes addressed by the Swiss-List. Anybody can contribute according to the mood of the day! For example, questions about tax issues (tre
aty between US and Switzerland, deductions, refunds, ...), visa, administrative problems are often discussed on the Swiss-List and provide help for newcomers.
However, Social events such as the organization of dinners, bbq, or also the sale of cars, pieces of furniture upon leaving the US are only welcome if there is no regional
list where you live or where the event happens. Please check http://www.swiss-list.com/mailing/ for a description of the regional lists.
- Q:
