Hi laurence,

I returned to CH twice after 4 and 6 years respectively. Software
development (product oriented) is not so common in CH and therefore
most headhunters aren't used to software product company experience
and can not optimally place such experience.

A good headhunter was www.swissselect.ch Further I would recommend to
look at the Software product companies in CH. The best market roundup
I've come across is the "Top 500" which can be found at
http://www.computerworld.ch/magazine/index.html#top500

Then there is the http://www.seca.ch/ swiss venture capital
association or evca.com for Europe through which you can find the VC's
interested in CH and through them their portfolio companies if you are
interested in the more valley type experience.

http://www.tornado-insider.com/radar/compadvsearchform.asp allows you
to find all companies in CH that got funding (and eventually need to
spend on skill products ;)

This would be your target market for the "Laurence" product. Another
approach would be to analyse the potential market for your skills on
more qualitative parameters i.e. participation in international
standards or well known SW companies (e.g. JSR-170, JBoss or google's
Zurich office).

Take us Day for instance - we're about to revolutionize the J2EE
application market with JSR-170 and the associated products ... you
won't find that through any of the above means, so if you're looking
for a bowling alley leading to a tornado that probably needs a bit
more digging into the potential candidates you get from the above
sources ...

Cheers
JM
