Hello Vuko,

Yes, you can easily take some vacuumed-packed cheese fondue mix with
you. Just ask La Migros to make a vacuum pack. I wouldn't say
anything particular, esp. if you bring a sealed pack of food. They
are more concerned of open fruits, vegetables and bread products.

The maizena is called corn starch, although you practically don't
need it with a fondue mix, as it is already in there. Alternatively,
you can use flour :) You can find corn starch in Safeway, as well as
Kirsch.

I would consider taking with you from Switzerland some white wine for
fondue, as the white wine here is too sweet, or just not dry enough.
It will significantly alter the taste of your fondue!

The alcohol is called sometimes Alcohol Stove Fuel: it is usually
found in the camping equipment department of many stores such as
Longs.
