Dear Carine,

Assuming that at least one of you is a non-resident alien for US tax purposes,
you can not file a joint return rather you are required to file separately. For
tax returns that are pretty straight forward Turbo tax (
http://www.turbotax.intuit.com ) offers a good on-line service for a reasonable
price. The instruction are self explanatory and you do not have to be a tax
expert. Stanford might also offer a tax seminar for international students, ask
your international student adviser, they should also be able to recommend a CPA
who has filed non-resident alien tax returns.
