Dear Swiss-Listers,
Last year I said that I would organize the 2005 barbecue elsewhere than in the
Signal De Bougy.
I am pleased to inform you that the 2005 BBQ for the Swiss-List "Alumni"
(returned to Switzerland) will take place near Neuchatel this year. This is a
little bit of a last-minute notice but we hope that most of you will be able
to join. I know that some of you will come already.
Place: pic nic area next to the Port of St-Blaise, near Neuchatel
Date: Saturday August 27, 2005 starting at 11:30AM with the 'Apero'
Who: all swiss-list members, family, kids, dogs and friends
Weather: this will take place only if it does not rain, in case of doubt call
076-5400617 the same morning.
Organizers bring: charcoal, sunshine
You bring: what you want to put on the grill, salads, beverage, platic
dishware and cups, swimming suits
The pic nic place is a grassy area arranged with long wooden tables (sitting
14-16) and with fixed barbecues. It is a semi-shaded public area 20 meters
from the lake, with a very small peeble beach. There are also toilet
facilities nearby. This pic nic area is located next to the small Port
(harbour) of the village of St-Blaise, 3km from the city of Neuchatel. The
parking area is 100 meters from the pic nic area.
It is not so easy to find so please print the attached maps or use a map-tool
to find it. I suggest to use: www.viamichelin.com and type: "street: chemin
des pecheurs", "City: 2072 St-Blaise".
Follow the "boat" sign when you are in St-Blaise since the "ch. des pecheurs"
is not clearly indicated.
Once you are in the parking lot near the Port, walk towards the port. You'll
see a building "batiment polyvalent". Turn right before it and walk along the
"Jura-side" of the harbour for about 100 meters, to go on the opposite side.
The pic nic area is on the opposite side of the harbour, where you will see
tall trees. The phone number of the restaurant/buvette of the port is 032
7535121, in case you are lost.
For sake of space reservation, it'd be nice it if you could let us know if you
are coming and how many people are coming with you. Please give also your
mobile phone number. Even if you let us know 2 days before that would be good
enough already. It also helps if we need to cancel it (we can inform you by
SMS).
We will also do our best to post this information on the swiss-list website
(www.swiss-list.com) in the coming days, including information about
cancellation if the weather is bad on that same day.
