Hi everybody,
I just went through the visa process and wanted to let you know how it went.
to call for the visa appointment it takes around 3-4 weeks to get an
appointment and the person who calls for you need to give the
following infos:
birthday, actual address in USA including tel number
passport number, expiration date, issuing city. if you know also the
visa program number
for the appointment go early enough since there are at least 10 other
people with the same appointment time.
bring with you all the documents you need, good is also a letter from
your employer and your swiss bank statement.
don't forget a book for the waiting times since the waiting time is
long, first to get into the embassy and then inside. the interview is
very short questions about where you work, what you are working on and
a few questions about the education in ch.
they sent the passport back the next day and it is no longer possible
to pick up the passprt directly from the embassy.
