Hi there,

I did talk to the BSV(Swiss Federal Social Security Office ) too. Here is
the answer: If you pay at least 18 months (6 quarters) of social security in
the U.S., once you come back to Switzerland, you will receive a pension for
this time of contribution, but it is an AMERICAN pension, no Swiss AVS. It
is two different systems and one does not have anything to do with the
other. This means if you do not pay Swiss AVS during the time of employment
in the U.S., you will have to expect a reduction of your Swiss retirement
benefits, but you will receive your American pension instead (if you have
contributed for 6 quarters at least).
Good luck to all of you and best regards,
Andrea at info_at_swissbrains.ch
