Hi Marc,
I do not know if my experience can help, since I am not paid by the FNRS but
directly by the NIH.
I am actually paying 12% of my US salary for AVS in CH.
During the PhD I was paid by the FNRS and had indeed to pay approximately
11% of my salary for AVS.

Without entering the debate whether this kind of insurance
is necessary, I would like to know if other recipients of
a Swiss Fellowship from the SNSF had to pay ~10% of their
fellowship, or the minimum value (~700-800CHF).
I received a fellowship and get some additional money from
my US institution.
