Dear subscriber of the Swiss-List,
I have subscribed to the Swiss-List 10 days ago. I followed the engaged
discussion about the only way fondue can be prepared in reply to a man's
request for some practical advice.
I answered to a simple tax question of a man who is planning to leave
Switzerland and come to the USA where most of us are presently living. This is
a great venture for this man. Having lived with my family in over 8 countries
during the past 30 years, I consider it a simple courtesy to extend a warm
welcome to this person and to make him really feel good about the choice of
country he has made for years to come. I am sad to realize that the spirit of
this group is not focused on being helpful, sharing experience gained abroad
with newcomers and encouraging people who have made a very important decision
in their live. The question about who is right and who is wrong seems to be
more important. As if there is a right or wrong if it comes to societies,
religious, ethnical groups or even different opinions between Cantons. Sorry,
but this is not a group I am interested to participate in.
I wish you all the best in your future ventures , and don't forget to enjoy and
share,
