This runs into the eternal discussion of which system (US vs EU)
is more productive. One takes conventionally economic data to
support either view point. The underlying data seems now to be
inflated (see todays article in the WSJ referring to the Enron
and other blow ups).
Other factors that should play a rule in judging is the quality
of live and sutainability. Both have been compromised in recent
time, in particular in the US model.
My personal take on it is, is that it is a matter of personal
taste and preference if you are in the lucky position to choose
either side.
