Lufthansa will have the late night connection out of SFO as of
next schedule (End of March). That is the former SR slot and
certainly one of the reasons why SR was liked out of SFO. Now it
will be LH. They will fly to Munich from where you will have
arriving at around 17:50 direct connections to pretty much
everything including Basel and the middle east. And lost baggage
is much less a problem in Munich.
