Shockfish.com Closes CHFR 1 Million First Round
30 November 00 - Shockfish.com, a Swiss wireless communications company, has
received CHFR 1 million in a first round of financing from Swiss angel
investors. The proceeds from this round will go towards hiring personnel,
and the development of hardware and software. Shockfish focuses on
one-to-one networking at conferences and large business events. It has
developed Spotme, a conference navigator system, composed of programmable
handheld devices, which communicate with each other as well as with Internet
base stations and can be programmed to find each other. Founded in 1998,
Shockfish is a spin-off from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology and
IMD. Shockfish has recently signed its first client.
