I am working on a research project about successful companies in the US with Swiss origin.
The goal of the project is to supply material to a Swiss based non-profit lobbying organisation, which wants to convince the government, parliament and public in Switzerland to make the country more welcoming towards entrepreneurs. In particular, the organisation aims at to change laws to make giving options and forming companies easier, as well as giving more work permits to IT specialists from foreign countries.
I am asking you to send me a brief list of all US based 'New Economy' companies (mainly high-technology startups founded over the last 10 years or so) with either a corporate history in Switzerland or Swiss founders. I would also appreciate any further detail about the companies you mention especially concerning their degree of success (i.e. high growth over the past years, etc.).
Having compiled such a list of US based companies with Swiss origin, I will do further research on the most important ones, finding out how successful they are (job creation) and why they are located in the US rather than in Switzerland. This information will be very valuable to argue the case for a more entrepreneurship friendly legal environment back in Switzerland.
