Stelio,
Go to the social security office first and tell them you need a S.S. # because
you stay several months
in CA and you want to drive around in the US and that you don't have an
international drivers
licence. They'll give you the S.S. #. Don't say anything else (wrong words:
work, study. etc.).
When you have that, you go to DMV and you pass your test (bring your passport).

I just arrived in San Francisco from Lausanne. I want to get a driver
licence in San Francisco area - and a apartment too... Does anyone know some
tips to get the social security number?
I'm sure it's sounds familiar to some of you...
