Article in the NZZ (April 4, 98):

"Die NIH als Foerderer des Technologietranfers"
(NIH .... National Inst. of Health)

Summarizes the experience of 30 years of professional technology
transfer between universities and industry (as also started in CH in the
last years). The first 10 years were disapointing. Interesting to see,
that the americans worried to lose contact to high technology in the
rest of the world in the early 80ies.
As a result, this program wasn't able to compensate for the decreasing
founding from the governement, but it helped a lot to commercialize new
developments ..... and we all can see the result for the US high tech
industry now!
