Great page! I sure have nothing against being affiliated with it! :-)

Two small additions regarding credit card:

It should be easier to get a credit card at the Stanford Federal Credit Union
if you also have your account there. If you are a member of a US based
job association such as IEEE, you might be able to get a card as well.

And one regarding SSN for spouses:

While J1 visa holders need to get their SSN before their drivers licence,
J2 visa holders need to apply first for a drivers licence before they can
apply for a SSN.
