Work Smarter, Not Harder
How to Develop Your Company Faster

June 1, 2004 at 7:00PM

  Seminar Overview

This panel will investigate the top 10 ways – in operations, finance and legal – to speed up development of emerging high-growth technology and life science companies to get to the next level or funding round.
Increasingly, venture investors experience pressure from their limited partners to show returns in shorter periods of times. Venture investors themselves would like to see exits for their investments earlier and ideally with a higher degree of certainty of success. This translates into a pressure for emerging companies to show progress and growth in the most effective way: cutting time and inefficiencies but not corners. With limited funds available at the seed stage, but so many things to do, this challenge is even bigger in the very first months of company development.

The panel will explore:
What are the top 10 mistakes?
Where time and money get lost and how it can be recovered?
Where focus on the core operations is needed?
What can be outsourced and how and to whom?
How time-to-closure in financings and business deals can be cut?
The experienced panel will also investigate legal structures to address corporate governance and culture as well as communications – with actual cases and metrics comparing various solutions from the work of the panelists.
