The Consulate General of Canada in San Francisco is looking to fill a
new Academic Relations and Public Affairs Officer position at our
Palo Alto Office. We are looking for bright, energetic individuals
with a good network of contacts in the academic and institutional
communities in California. The work to be done by the incumbent is
vital to Canada and will help to develop collaborative linkages
between faculty and researchers in northern California with leading
Canadian institutions of higher learning.
The recruitment for this position will quick and the deadline for
applications is October 15th, 2007 (deadline has been extended). As
you will read in the position description, the Consulate is seeking
candidates that have:
- 3-5 years of relevant advocacy/outreach or research experience with
academic institutions, think tanks and/or international organizations.
- a university degree, preferable Masters level or above, with a
focus on science, government, international relations, or
communications.
- an existing network of academic contacts in science and technology,
international policy and trade, environment and/or energy fields in
California.
- direct experience with major universities in California, Nevada,
Hawaii and/or Canada.
