Dear Fry's addicts
As there have been a lot of recommendations for media markt, I'd like
to add two warnings:
- media markt has sometimes very good offers, but there is no guarantee
that they are the cheapest. In addition, the customer service is very
bad and returns are difficult (as opposed to fry's). Best you know
before what exactly you need and check media markt if they got a good
price for it. Otherwise look somewhere else.
- the media markt in Geneva and Lausanne are small compared to the ones
in Germany or the german speaking part of Switzerland. In addition they
have a lot of household appliances.
When I was living in Switzerland I often checked on the web both in
Switzerland and the US for the best offers. Specially if the dollar is
low you can save quite some money by ordering in the states. However,
in case of returns or guarantee claims it might get cumbersome. (I
lucky never had to try this part.) Now I'm living in the bay area and
enjoy visits to fry's (-;
