Synopsis:
"The pianist" is almost autobiographical both of Wladyslaw SZPILMANN
(1911-2000), piano player in Warsaw before (at the National radio since
1935) and during the second world war - based on his novel from 1945
prohibited in Poland 1946 and republished 1998 "Death of a city"- , and
partly of Roman POLANSKI who apparently experienced himself the Krakow's
ghetto. The film brings war pictures and is source of deep thoughts about
many important subjects. It is probably better to prepare adolescents
beforehand.

EVENT POLICY:
Everyone would be responsible for getting her/his own ticket and paying his
own meal and drinks. We will meet in the theatre, projection room. Early
coming is probably a good idea, after its success in Cannes (Palme d'or
2002), the film has also received prizes in the US this week. Because a
reservation is needed for the restaurant, please let me know before Saturday
11th, 11 a.m. if you are going to come.

Thanks in advance!
