Dear Swiss List,

I moved 2 months ago to the Bay-Area and am very exited about the
hiking opportunities. Next weekend I will do a hike to the top
of Mount Tamalpais which offers on a clear day an unbelievable
outlook over the Bay Area. If you would like to join me, please see
the details below.

Regards
Stefan
Fremont, CA

Date : 13. October 2002, Sunday, 1000AM
Meeting Point : IN FRONT of the main entrance of “Mountain Home Inn”
810 Panoramic Highway, Mill Valley , California 94941
Directions can be found at http://www.mtnhomeinn.com/.
This small but very charming hotel is on the right
side of the street you will arrive. There is some
limited parking on the left side of the street but
it fills up quickly. More parking lots are along the street.
Fees : no parking or access fee
Hike : roundtrip, distance about 8 miles. We will hike from
the hotel (900ft) up to Mount Tamalpais (2500ft).
The hiking time itself is about 3 to 4 hours.
With brakes it will take us probably about 5 to 6 hours.
Level : it is technically not difficult. The trail is mostly wide and
shared with bicycles. Due to the elevation gain you should
be used to hiking or other regular sport activities.
Equipment : I recommend a good pair of shoos, sun protection,
plenty of water and a snack. There is a little restaurant
on the way (West Point Inn) and a little kiosk close to top,
but they might not be open.
Cancel policy : I will not go if it rains.
Contact : If you want to participate, please let me
know so we can arrange the details.
Disclaimer : I am not a professional tour guide. I can not
take on any responsibilities for any person
or/and events happening on the trail or
during the hike. Legally, everybody is on
                   his/her own.
