Dear Friends,

As you may know, we will welcome to the area a group of 6 experts in
innovation from Switzerland. They represent various organizations active
in entrepreneurship training (Venturelab), innovation financing and
startup support (CTI) as well as investment in high-tech companies (CTI
Invest). You will find more information in the attachment and below.

To welcome this group to the Boston are in an informal setting, I would
like to invite you to join us for drinks:

from the innovation scene in Switzerland. The landscape for innovation

initiatives and ventures!

On February 28 and March 1st, SHARE will welcome to the Boston area a
group of leaders active in supporting and financing innovation and
entrepreneurship in Switzerland. They are interested in learning about
successful initiatives in this field and in establishing links with
local experts.Our guests represent the following insitutions [see flyers
and bios in attachment]

1) CTI is the Swiss innovation promotion agency operating under the
motto "Science to Market". For the last 4 year-period, its budget was
close to USD 300 mio. CTI funds R&D projects with industrial partners
and promotes innovation in nanotechnology, life sciences and IT. Web:

2) CTI Startup is a national program supporting entrepreneur with
coaching services, access to financing and networking opportunities.

3) Venturelab is a nationwide educational program aimed at increasing
the number of new entrepreneurs at research insitutions as well as
training high-tech entrepreneurs. This year, Venturelab will be in
charge of the Ventureleaders program that will bring to Boston 20 of the
most promising Swiss startups for networking, exchange of ideas and

4) CTI Invest helps promising startups get access to sources of
financing through matchmaking events and various networking events. CTI
Invest's members are leading European VC and Private Equity firms such
as Logitech, Novartis Venture, Siemens, VI Partners, and TVM. Web:

Through visits, meetings and roundtable discussions, they would like to
understand better the local entrepreneurial ecosystem and discuss
collaborative activities with groups active in innovation and
entrepreneurship. They have two main areas of interest:

a/ training and support for entrepreneurs: what are some successful
programs? how are they measured? how do entrepreneurs value their
services?

b/ seed financing: who are the main players in seed financing? does the
State or the Federal Government play an active role in adressinng the
financing "gap"?

They are also actively looking forward to discussing with
entrepreneurship centers, service providers and investors who could have
an interest in assisting the various organizations represented achieve
the goal of having more entrepreneurs and more successful global
startups from Switzerland.
