working on the interface of chemistry and biology:

on Tuesday November 26, 2002 from 6:30pm - onward at SHARE Boston in
Cambridge, the Swiss Science & Technology Consulate of the Boston area

About Prof Seeberger:
In addition to his research in the field of the structure and function of
complex oligosaccharides, http://web.mit.edu/chemistry/Seeberger-Lab, Prof
Seeberger also worked on the development of a breaktrough malaria vaccine
(http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/nr/2002/malaria.html). He was also part of
the team that won the 50k business plan competition with the company Ancora
Pharmaceuticals active in complex carbohydrate drug discovery.

About the event:
Prof Seeberger will give an overview of his research activities leading to
the malaria vaccine and also talk about his experience as a founder of
Ancora. Q&A will follow the presentation.
This event is co-organized with the TinyTech club at MIT that draws together
folks from throughout MIT all interested in ultrafine engineering &
applications: http://web.mit.edu/tinytech/. Other invitees from Harvard and
MIT are folks working in EE, MechE, ChemE, the Media Arts, Biological
Engineering, Biology, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, and
Physics
