Dear east coast friends,

We are glad to invite you to an exciting event at SHARE Boston: a three-way
videoconferencing discussion on the technology behind Alinghi
(www.alinghi.com), the team currently ranked first in the qualification
races to the America's cup! Please read below for additional details and let
me know quickly if you want to participate!

-- Come experience the thrill of America's cup racing! --
-- Live Videoconference with the Alinghi team and EPFL (Scientific
Advisor) --

It is our great pleasure to invite you to an uncommon conference with the
sailors and scientists of Team Alinghi, the Swiss Challenger for the
America's Cup.

Tuesday, November 5th -- 1:45pm (program starts at 2PM!)

420 Broadway
Cambridge, Massachusetts

October 28, 2002 -- Into the second of two round robins between the nine
racing yachts in the Louis Vuitton Cup in New Zealand, the Swiss challenger
Alinghi holds first place in the point standings. Alinghi is followed by
the American challengers OneWorld, Oracle BMW, and Stars & Stripes, which
respectively stand in second, fourth, and sixth place.

On November 5th at 2:00pm--a few days before the Louis Vuitton quarter
finals begin--we look forward to welcoming you to a live video-conference
with SHARE Boston, Alinghi team members in their Auckland, New Zealand,
base, and Alinghi's official scientific advisor, the Swiss Federal Institute
of Technology in Lausanne (better known in Switzerland as the EPFL--the
Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale Lausanne).

Along with a number of American specialists, you will be able to direct your
questions to the designers of the Alinghi boat as well as to the racing
team.

Speakers:
Prominent members of the Alinghi team in Auckland will include helmsman
Jochen Schueman, architect Rolf Vrolijk, design team chief Grant Simmer, and
(in Boston) Alinghi consultant Jerome Milgram of the MIT Department of Ocean
Engineering. The EPFL will be represented by its vice-president for
research, Stefan Catsicas, and the coordinator of the EPFL-Alinghi
partnership, Professor Jan-Anders Manson.
