Let me remind you of two very interesting events happening next week at
swissnex :
- on May 3rd we'll have a presentation on Lessons from Silicon Valley
by one of the best specialist on the subject, who talks about it with
both an American and a European perspective
- on May 4, there is the unique opportunity to learn more on MBAs and

Dr. Homa Bahrami is an international educator, advisor, and author,
specializing in organizational design and organizational effectiveness
in knowledge-based industries. She is a Senior Lecturer at the Haas
School of Business, University of California, Berkeley where she has
been on the faculty since 1986. Homa's research, teaching, and advisory
work focus on emerging trends in organizational design and governance,
and effective approaches for leading and engaging multi-cultural
knowledge workers. She is the co-author of a major textbook (with
Harold Leavitt) "Managerial Psychology: Managing Behavior in
Organizations", published by the University of Chicago Press, and
translated into many languages. Her new book “Super-Flexibility for
Knowledge Enterprises”, published by Springer in January 2005
(co-authored with Stuart Evans), focuses on practical approaches for
strategizing, organizing and leading knowledge enterprises in
turbulent, international markets. Homa serves on sev
  eral advi
sory boards in Silicon Valley and Europe, is active in executive
education, executive development, and executive coaching in the US, and
Europe, and works with executive teams of global companies on complex
re-organizations and M&A integrations. She can be reached at

Dr. Stuart Evans is Chairman of Pedagogy, Inc., in Menlo Park,
California, a Senior Associate at the Judge Institute of Management,
University of Cambridge, UK, and a Senior Research Fellow at Birmingham
Business School, UK. His professional career started in the Decision
Analysis Group at SRI International (formerly Stanford Research
Institute) in 1981. He later joined the Menlo Park office of Bain and
Company, specializing in technology venturing and corporate
entrepreneurship. He joined Shugart Corporation, Sunnyvale, California,
a pioneer in the disk drive industry, as Director of Corporate Strategy
before becoming a General Partner at Sand Hill Venture Group, in Menlo
Park, California. Dr. Evans was a Visiting Scholar at the Graduate
School of Business, Stanford University from 1987-89, conducting
longitudinal research on the disk drive controller industry. His latest
book (co-authored with Homa Bahrami) “Super-Flexibility for Knowledge
Enterprises”, distills his extens
