About the Swissair fiasco... I am no specialist, but here are a few
ideas:
1) Dispute with the credit card company. I guess that's worth a try.
2) It was mentioned that most cancelation insurances will not honor
their policy in the particular case of a company going bankrupt (or
something like this, and at least in Switzerland). Past october 28,
Crossair will have "taken over", with a chance that tickets out of SFO
will not be honored. So, maybe in this case it could be possible to get
a refund, if you have cancelation insurance.
3) Most (US) credit cards have some sort of cancelation insurance
built-in if you bought your tickets with them. Check the fine print,
maybe there is a chance you can get your money back through this avenue.
Anybody who's a lawyer on this list to help figure this out. MacGiver
would do as well... :)
Good luck all. I too was very fond of the SFO-Zurich swissair line.
Guess that's over now.
