Dear All,

first of all thank you to Philippe, Michael, Robert and Didier for their replies,
What I found out is that if you are more than 183 days in the country in the tax year, you are considered as a US-resident for tax purposes even with an H1B visa. In this case you can claim your family as dependance after they have filled a W7 form to receive a tax identification number. You have to fill the form and go to the closest IRS agency near you.
