International Product Manager
Job Description
Plans, organizes, and controls an assigned product line from conceptual
stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing,
financial, and corporate growth objectives by performing the following
duties.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Prepares and manages overall product strategy, research and development
requirements, development and manufacturing coordination for new and
emerging products in international markets. Prepares product development
objectives, schedules, coordinates engineering and financial plans for all
phases of product development and introduction to market.
- Coordinates technical product development, estimates of potential profits,
and release to production. Manages day-to-day progress of product. Art
directs industrial and graphic designers. Manages outside vendors such as
translators, editors, content writers, educational advisors, sculptors,
animators, model shops, etc.
- Provides financial & technical justification for product selection &
definition.
- Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales,
engineering, marketing, manufacturing, audio, legal and operations to
develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and
market opportunities.
- Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support
of product development.
- Conducts focus groups. Maintains list of market requirements for foreign
countries (gathers input from Marketing, Sales, QA, educational advisors)
- Identifies partnering opportunities for complementary third-party products
to broaden company's product line. Participates in key sales situations for
the product, if needed. Maintains communication and contacts to collect and
analyze technical, financial, schedule, and sales information for product
line.

Job Qualifications
- 4 years of Product Development or Project Management experience
- Awareness of the product development cycle and the ability to work with
all different types of groups: engineering, marketing, sales, design.
- Experience in localizing products
- Manufacturing experience.
- Experience in developing printed materials and artwork.
- Familiar with technical concepts related to mechanical, hardware and
software engineering.
- Experience working with translation tools.
- Degree in Product Development, Localization, Product Design, Marketing,
Engineering, Industrial Design or a related field is preferred.
- Bilingual or fluent in: French and/or Spanish; Conversational in the
following languages a plus: Japanese, Mandarin, Korean, Italian.
- Ability to work in Microsoft Excel, Adobe Illustrator. MS Project a plus.
