Hi,
I agree with the points made so far.
I think it is important for the Swiss authorities to be aware that good
education is one thing but having jobs for those PhDs is another. There is
a lot of funding for thesis students and some post docs, but hardly any
longer term position in academia or govt. labs. And the private sector
doesn't need as many PhD's.
Basically, we and other countries pay for the education of skilled
researchers who then work in the States.
Tax treaties would help to adjust the already low salaries.
