I've been outside the US for more than 30 days on a J-1 this summer.
Before I left, I had the IAP66 (pink slipp) renewed by the autorities. I
had no troubles to reenter the US - I guess I wasn't just lucky ?!
Sorry, but I cannot tell yuo for sure...
