RE: swiss-list: visiting US as tourist after having H1-B

Thanks for all the replies to my topic. Unfortunately, I don't have a
permanent position in Switzerland right now (but I'm looking) nor a wife and
kids so it will be interesting to see what happens. The reason why I was
originally worried about reentering is that the last two out of three times
that I reentered the US on my H1-B I ended up getting put in the waiting
room at immigrations. After waiting for about an hour, they called my name,
looked at my passport and let me through. When I questioned the officers why
I was held, they refused to tell me why and also told me there was no way
for me to find out why. So therefore I'm a bit nervous about it particularly
since I'm trying to enter as a tourist. In the worst case, it will be my
shortest vacation ever I suppose.
