swiss-list: Dual citizenship

In response to what I read (see below), I think that "renouncing
allegiance to any foreign nation" (such as Switzerland) and
"renouncing citizenship" (such as Swiss citizenship) are two
different things. Am I right? Is it possible to become American
citizen and still keep Swiss nationality? Could anybody on the
swiss ... list (not the airline...) answer my questions? I did
some research on the web but I did not find clear statements.
