Hi,

I have vaguely heard of a rule whereby a Swiss national who spends 6
consecutive years abroad is dispensed of army obligations.

Does anyone know the specifics of this rule? Like what procedure to follow ,
and how these years are counted? (Is it the fact that you paid taxes abroad,
were not officially resident in Switzerland, is it ok if you spent a few months
of the year in Switzerland, etc.)

Any info would be appreciated...Thanks!

Henri
