Anyhow, this is my only concern. I do feel that soon we need to come together to discuss the details of the algorithmic and other aspects of CNN Technology to be used for the applications we listed. I think it would be useful to arrange it as soon as possible since , as Prof. Fortuna knows very well, CNN Technology is a radically new approach in computing (Soft and hard as well). I will be back in Budapest from Berkeley by March 8 and we could iterate a time and place to meet. I could arrange this meeting either in Berkeley before March 7, or in Budapest after March 15. Of course, ready and glad to go somewhere where Your Company would show what you prefer to let us know and meet your colleagues. I sure, Professors Kunt, Rodriguez, and Vandewalle appreciate your active participation. Sincerely yours Tamas Roska From ???@??? Our interest in the Project is essentially focused onto define new architectures based on CNN technology to be adopted in advanced systems and application fields. Our research activity in the area of soft computing and multimedia technologies, including CNN methodologies, oriented to define new marketable products, is very tough and very appreciated in the international scientific community. On the basis of the most recently available industry data, ST is the world's leading supplier of analog ICs, mixed-signal ICs, Smartpower Ics, EPROM's EEPROM and motion picture experts group (MPEG2) decoder Ics. ST is also first producer of Fuzzy Logic-based image processing device for digital TV and developer of Soft Computing-based data compression algorithms. Our contribution to the Project would like to be not just limited to act as foundry for the chips: ST can supply, in the project, its know-how and expertise in design, its knowledge in CNN based algorithms to exploit new marketable applications for a large spreading of the CNN chip-set. Concerning with the questions posed by Proff. Rodriguez-Vazquez and Espejo and comments by Prof Roska it follows: 1) ST would generally agree to avoid large and heterogeneous partnerships (associate partners would appear in a second step, not specified in the project draft). 2) ST is not available to act as foundry in phase 1 (first pr ՜.+,D՜.+,P hp ' LTS - EPFL-+ b TitleTitre 6> _PID_GUID'AN{2578B184-33AA-11D3-AFFA-000502AEF54B}evels (single poly); or HCMOS6 (0.35um) with 3.3V supply, 5 metal levels (double poly). The OPUS-CADENCE design framework is frequently used by ST. 4) the distribution of ST resources will be made agree according to the workpackages definition. I look forward to have Your feedback. There were due to communication problems produced while were attempting to automate the mail submission procedures. Yesterday we got answers from Murat and Roska. According to these answers, Logitech will be a partner for the second phase. To now, the partners who have agreed to be in the first phase are the following: ANCL, CNM-IMSE, KUL-ESAT, EPFL-SPL, ST-SCMT In order to ellaborate the final proposal, it would be helpful to get answers from KUL-ESAT and ST-SCMT about the corresponding questions raised in our message dated Feb.5 14:27.
