The European Union Ambassador from Washington, DC, the Honorable John
Bruton, will be in Sacramento on Wednesday, February 13th, to make a
special presentation before the Senate Select Committee on California-
European Trade at 3:30 PM in Hearing Room 2040 of the State Capitol
in Sacramento. The focus of this Informational Hearing, and Amb.
Bruton’s remarks, will pertain to how European firms and investment
create thousands of jobs and numerous business opportunities in
California, as well as the significance of the Californian-European
economic relationship overall.

We anticipate this being a very informative and useful presentation,
especially given the fact that a European Union ambassador has not
addressed a committee of the California Legislature in six years.
Suffice it to say, this will be a very unique event, and one that
should be of keen interest to those interested in international trade
issues, including numerous individuals affiliated with SwissNex and
Swiss business interests in this State.

I’d be very grateful if you or your staff could kindly pass this
information along to anyone at SwissNex or in the Swiss business
community in California whom you deem appropriate. Please feel free
to place this information on your SwissNex website, if you wish
(please see attached “press notice”). This presentation by the EU
Ambassador will be a public hearing of the California Legislature;
