Dear Swiss List,

next weekend I will do a hike around the Mount Diablo Summit
which offers on a clear day a wide outlook over the Bay Area.
If you would like to join me, please see the details below.

Regards
Stefan
Fremont, CA

Date : 27. October 2002, Sunday, 1000AM
Meeting Point : #Curry Point# which is a parking area within
the Mount Diablo State Park :
                http://cal-parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=517
#Curry Point# is about 1.7miles after the main
gate on the right side. The ranger can point it
out for you on the map.
Fees : $2 park access fee
Hike : roundtrip, from the parking lot (1774 ft) we will
go up to Devils Elbow (3500 ft) and then loop
counter-clock wise around Mount Diablo Summit.
We will not go on the Summit as it is usually
crowded. The hiking time itself is about 4 hours.
With brakes it will take us about 5 to 6 hours.
Level : it is technically not difficult. Due to the
elevation gain you should be used to hiking or
                other regular sport activities.
Equipment : A good pair of shoos, sun protection, plenty of
water and a snack. There are no restaurants on
                the way.
Cancel policy : I will not go if it rains.
Contact : If you want to participate, please let me know.
I can email you some pictures to get you an idea
                about the view.
Disclaimer : I am not a professional tour guide. I can not
take on any responsibilities for any person
or/and events happening on the trail or
during the hike. Legally, everybody is on
                his/her own.
