Alumni -- A list for everybody that returned to Switzerland or Europe

About Alumni
English (USA)

This is the mailing list of the Swiss Scientists and Professionals living in Switzerland, or more broadly in Europe, and who have been or still are living in the United States and had a close connection or interest in the activities of the Swiss-List http://www.swiss-list.com).

Q:
Why an Alumni list?
A:
The creation of the Swiss-List was initially a consequence of the increasing amount of Swiss scientists at Stanford University and replaced the informal exchange between some of them in early 1997. Its goal was and still is to address issues relevant to the Swiss scientific community active in the US. Even the Swiss Consulate in San Francisco monitors the list and posts interesting info. Logically, quite a few active members of the Swiss-List have returned to Switzeland or elsewhere in Europe and are professionally active there. Many have felt the need to remain actively connected with one another, or with people sharing the same interests, thus the creation of a specific list, the Alumni list.
Q:
What are the topics covered by the Alumni list?
A:
There are no predefined themes addressed by the Alumni list. Anybody can contribute according to the mood of the day! For example, questions about start-up's in Switzerland, venture capital, or simply the exchange of mutually relevant information are discussed. We try to organize regular social events (dinners, BBQ's, etc.), and wish to circulate information about interesting conferences, or seminars.
Messages should be sent to the entire Swiss-list (swiss-list@swiss-list.com)
only if they are supposed to be relevant to a majority of Swiss-list members.
Q:
How do I post a message to the Alumni list?
A:
Just email to alumni@swiss-list.com and your text will be forwarded to all the recipients of the list.
